István Széchenyi University recently hosted the Horizon DALIA European Union project meeting, which was attended by nearly sixty people from nine countries. The role of the István Széchenyi University's Water Management Research Group in this is to present and analyze the floodplain ecosystem rehabilitation that took place on the island, and to disseminate good practices, he said of the institution. In the Insula Magna project, he developed proposals for the cross-island water replacement system and the Mosoni-Danube, in close cooperation with the staff of the North Transdanubian Water Directorate. As a result, Szigetköz could become one of DALIA's model areas.
On the first day of the extremely busy meeting, the participants presented the progress of the project's work packages to each other.
After the professional meeting, the partners could immerse themselves in the aquatic world of Szigetköz on a boat trip on the Mosoni-Danube. The next day, the employees of the North Transdanubia Water Administration presented the Dunakiliti dam and the fish passage at Ásványráró.
